Not yet, I spoke to the distributer a while back and he said, he woul
gladly send it to my LBS. But, I just want to go an actual shop that ha
Fuji bikes so I can see for myself and work out the sizing rather the
rely on specs from the website

I did it in 2002 on same but after fitting triple (and no doubt mor
training) cut just over an hour off my time this year to make i
really comical the only cassette they had during the xmas break whe
i was upgrading was a 13-29! combined with a 30-42-53 it was zany
never touched 2 biggest cogs (probably woulda fallen over sideways i
i had 😄

Ordered an ENO eccentric hub from Dan at Atomic Industries. 130m
spaced, 32h, $225. Arrival time =

Drove (urgh) to Bicycle Recycle in the hope of picking up a used roa
frame for my 'road-fixie' project. This shop is COOL! So much bik
stuff! I was there all afternoon - which kinda made up for the crapp
drive over. Spotted some suitable but cheap/heavy bikes out front an
looked at a few candidates inside - some frames, some complete bikes
Looking at 54-56cm frames. The Perkins that "Jay" mentioned on the phon
the week before was 56cm seat tube but 58cm top tube (C-C) which
thought too long and moved onto measuring
- nice white pearl Perkins, 54cm, $650 complete bik
- grey Viner who's silly owner had painted over the original paint! 54c
$550 complete bike, waiting on whether or not they will strip it dow
to frame only for $200
- nice red Viner frame $35
- MBK(?) yellow frame $25
- pink Vetta w/ Campy 8spd, $200 for frame/fork onl

The pink Vetta would've been perfect (I would've left it pink too!) bu
it had internal cable routing and the grey Viner seemed much nicer t
ride for some reason. So, I'm waiting to see whether or not they pul
down the grey Viner and how much its frame would be..

Now that I think about it, the 58cm toptube on the red Perkins might b
okay for me, given that I ride a 56cm toptube + 10cm stem now.. can'
test ride a frame though 🙁 Need some a.b opinions about this..

Seriously though, it's a trick hub that allows me to SS/fix basicall
any road frame I come across, without the need to weld in track ends o

Well, this bike isn't going to have any cables on it ('cept for th
front brake cable) so internal cable routing would mean big holes lef
in the frame for Mr. Rust to visit. I 'could' fill up the holes, bu
like I said I liked the other bike and I'd rather not have to fill the
(time & money)

Dude, you have a SS, the rule outlined above applies.. YOU ARE HEREB
ALLOWED TO SPEND UP!! :-

What sort of dropouts does that bike/frame have? You might not need a
ENO. You could also get gripsport to do a dropout conversion for ya
that'd be heaps cheaper. Of course, with the ENO, you can fix/ss othe
bikes later on.

They did have a few new-ish 'dales in stock. I have no idea of the size

Hmm.. $800 for a 'dale sounds pretty cheap! You realise these things ar
stupid light right? Well, the CAAD7's are. From memory, all the Crack-and
fails in Bicycle Recycle were complete bikes. They might have frame
though. Give 'em a call

Hey Stu, you didn't happen to see any Cannondale-esque, non-quill ste
thingy frames at Bicycle Recyle when you were there did ya? I'm on th
look out for a new frame, not the hugest fan of my current one and I'
currently lusting after Cannondales. However, the cost of such a fram
is rather high, new (about $800 for a CAAD 4 at Cycle Science) so if
could get a niceish frame to go with my niceish wheels and groupset, I'
be a happy camper

Let me just make clear that I'm not saying that my frame isn't goo
enough in quality for me. I just don't like it. Yes, I hold sill
grudges. 😄 Besides, I'm narcissistic and Raceline isn't nearly s
exciting as other brands. ;

I measured up my spare frame/s last night. I have a 54 ish old stee
number, forward facing semi-horizontal drop outs (with fork & headset)
a better but bigger 59 ish Tange one with vert dropouts. You ar
wellcome to check these out if they could suit you

Hmm.. I could get two road frames.. build one up a fixie and the other
singlespeed. The ss road bike could become full-on commuter (ugly mu
guards and all) and the GT could go back to MTB mode. The fixie coul
then be ridden whenever.

just came back from Cecil's (bikepump purchase)

They have a horizontally-drop-out 'Touring frame' there. 57cmTT/54cmS
plus forks with brakemounts, plus brakemounts on chainstays (under) a
well for $100!!

What's the go with brakemounts on the chainstays? Is that so th

Yeah, the breaks were a little wierd, altho i presume (like you say) ar
for those canti style ones ('Bulldog' comes to mind). Had matching cabl
guides on BB to feed cable to this area but also had conventiona
caliper brake cross bar between seatstay

(56/56), but it had internal cable routing and the welding/tube matchu
looked _really_ bad to my eyes. There was a yellow/purple(?) frame tha
also had very dodgy welds and there were some new frames (alu and steel
but these were too expensive. So, Bicycle Recycle's selection of frame
is still looking the most promising.. lets see if they get back to m
about that grey Viner
