    Interesting...the men's 10K WR, the women' 5K WR and now this all within
    a few days...

    Note that humans train up quite nicely for distance racing. Horses can
    do 40 mph in 2-minute events, but the longer the event, the more humans
    are favoured.

    Bicycles fit in interestingly: we can't outsprint horses, but on level
    ground cyclists can beat horse riders given a sufficiently long course.

    Whoa! Okay, we can outsprint horses. Also interesting is Cipollini's
    apparent view that thoroughbred cyclists should only be conceived under
    natural cover.
