2010 Paris-Roubaix

Whoever wins it will be a great race. Say what you want about the roadside spectators but I'm hoping they don't get ploughed into this year. (Motorbike riders take note!)

I'm tipping Cancellara :)

Yeah, I think the chance of doing the double makes winning P-R for Canc more realistic.

Hope it will be a competitive race.

I'll go with Tommeke (Boonen) for the win tomorrow.

There won't be the Muur for Fabian to climb away from Tom this week...

bad luck or too much marking to spoil canc's chances, but he also negates boonen. going longshot with b. eisel.

Just watching it live on eurosport : looks pretty overcast as they approach section 18 : saxo are at the head of the group.

Looks breezy out there too.

Dovelder riding a lovely Merckx bike.

100kms to go.

Canc and Boonen sitting beside each other.

Great shots from French/Eurosport TV : boys bouncing on the cobbles as they pedal.

Van Summerren crashes.

Four garmin riders down : and three other separate Garmin crashes.

48kms to go : Cancellara has just literally time trialled away from the field.

Phenomenal ride by canc.

Cance just rocketed off the front, 50k from the finish. He waited until Boonen was tired from chasing attacks. They're trying to catch him but good luck. I think he might be gone.

From 30 seconds lead to over a minute in no time and the gap keeps growing. The lead chasing group looks like they don't know what hit them. Cancellara is wearing the Swiss pope's shoes. I think he might be the Swiss pope.

canc is time trailling to the finish.

This is a phenomenal ride.

Remind me of Museeuw (hopefully this ride is not for the same reasons though).

LOL! You do have to wonder: just water in those Saxo water bottles?

EDIT: Just joking. No real reason to doubt this strong man. He IS phenomenal.

Must be all that running around that Saxo do each December!

Gap is now 2min 40secs.

Phenomenal.

I'm amazed he's doing this race on carbon wheels. I know some people do it, but it seems really risky.

Is he on carbon?
It is risky.

Who was the last rider to do the Flanders/PR double?
