Well, more than a few. My Trek 9700 was feeling a bit long in the tooth this season, which is understandable since, with the exception of the tires, handlebars, and wheelset, it has all it's original equipment (including chain, cassette, and cables).

This weekend it got its first ride with my recent upgrades:

- Manitou Black Super Air, 80mm
- Race Face Evolve XC crank w/ X-type BB
- XTR read derailleur (friend sold it to me cheap)
- SRAM chain
- XT rear cassette
- PD540 pedals
- new brake pads
- all new cables and housing

Needless to say, it feels like a new bike. The biggest difference was the fork, of course, which my gf recently bought for me. I also recently acquired a full suspension frame, but now my hard tail rides to great, I'm going to take my time building up the FS.

Interesting note about the crank, those X-types must take a few rides to "seat" because the bolt was "finger loose" after each ride this weekend.
