My favourite pair of cycling shoes are by Specialized, I've had
them a couple of years now and they still going strong.

I would as well if I were you.
I had a look at the Aldi shoes, Ok for £20 but not worth sending half way
round the world.
Next time they do the bike gear (next summer probably) I'm sure a helpful
soul over here will be able to help you out. Just be aware that the clothing
sizes come up a bit big.

Doh. Other than that, is the Campag stuff any good? If it's got silvery
(reflective?) thread it's probably made by Castrelli -- but I don't know
whether they're any good either.

It's made by Campag in Bosnia-Herz and the silver threads are an
antibacterial feature. The silver helps prevent the little blighters
multiplying.

And if they get the length of thread right, they could double as
"window" to confuse the speed cameras.
