Anyone care to play "What Year is this Bike"?

Hello All,

Trying to establish the vintage and specific model of a GT roadbike that my brother has and could use the collective expertise of the board.

Here are the clues:

Original Dura-Ace equipped:

-8 spd
-STI (non flight deck)
-single pivot dura ace brake calipers
-serial # on the bike begins with "94 GT"
-cranks and brake calipers have a "blued" finish (like a gun).
-non-replaceable rear derailler hanger

Unfortunately the factory stickers are no longer present so the model is a mystery. The "94 GT" serial number hints toward a 1994 possibly?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe try emailing GT and see if they know what it is by the complete serial number? Add all the other details too. You can email them through the following form:

Well at least I am not the only one trying to figure the age of a bike. I havent tried e-mailing the company, in past experience most companies ignore such emails. Guess I am just unlucky that way. Anyway, I am playing the same game on a thread here http://www.cyclingforums.com/t61949.html
