I used to carry a pair of aqua socks in my pack on tours. These had a very thin rubber bottom and a spandex type top. They were very light and nice for walking around (much better than cleats!). So, anyone know a good source for these? The lighter, the better. Or, anyone else have a different type of footwear that it similar? thanks in advance!

I got mine from Big-W, Woolworths for about $6.00, I use them in the pool for water running, they will now go in the bike pack, thanks.

Thanks for the tip but we don't have any Woolworths around here. Does anyone know of any online options?

Well, here's what I founb so far:

http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?productId=47777262&storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&langId=-1

http://www.altrec.com/shop/detail/17104/

They all look OK but the ones I remember from 'way back when' seemed to be much more 'minimalist'. Therefore, lighter and smaller. These 'newer' ones seem to have more bulk in the sole. Anyone have any experiences?

It is seasonal and hit or miss but I see these quite a bit at TJ Maxx stores made by Wyoming Wear I think. I think you could also try REI, or even Gander Mountain
