Bristol-Bath cyclepath closure

I thought 2km in 4 days seemed a little optimistic. Today
they've done about 90m, starting from Bitton Station. They
seem to have done a good job (although, not being an expert
in such things, I might not be able to make a proper
judgement until the new surface has seen a couple of
winters). If they do the same tomorrow, starting from where
they left off, then last week's patches will be completely
covered and the section of cyclepath that most desperately
needed resurfacing will be done.

When I reached Bitton Station this morning there were
workmen standing around getting ready to close the path,
but it wasn't yet closed. The slight irony is that by
leaving home early enough to ride to work on the road, I
shall probably be early enough every morning to miss the
cyclepath closure.

I can handle getting up 20 minutes earlier to allow time to
go the long way round. Having to get up another hour earlier
because the clocks have gone forward really didn't help,
though :-(

It's a fairly standard BF Pocket Rocket, 105 equipped, but
my pride and joy is the frame number (6666) which I'd like
to transfer to the Trice. It could make me support bike

rode through it today when it was officially closed, and me
and half-a-dozen others lifted our bikes over the fence,
climbed through ourselves and walked on the railway past the
bit they were working on, so only delayed by a minute.

The darksider with 3 wheels was probably Daniel Towner, who
has occasionally posted here in the past:

If the third machine was a PDQ and was North of Warmley
Station then it was probably my next door neighbour. If it
was a Speed Machine then it was probably a friend who I
lured to the Dark Side. Otherwise I don't k now.

I wouldn't take my V*lv* down that road near a rush hour, if
I could possibly avoid it.
