Change from SGI to Downtube Shifter For Front Gear?

Actually it's more that the housing compresses than the cable stretching, but slop is slop... I'll say this (as a campy guy), I wouldn't give up the trim functionality, but shimano front derailleur shifting is lighting fast.
 
Of course, housing compression, always forget. Yeah, I'd like to have the graduated ratcheting system as well some times, but I'm happy with my 105
