Change from SGI to Downtube Shifter For Front Gear?

I have no problems with shimano gear shifting on the front, but I don't change rings too much. On a hilly ride though I find the cable strectches which is where i wish it was campy. I couldn't stand looking at two different hoods. I would rather ride the extra weight than have 2 different hoods.

Actually it's more that the housing compresses than the cable stretching, but slop is slop... I'll say this (as a campy guy), I wouldn't give up the trim functionality, but shimano front derailleur shifting is lighting fast.

Of course, housing compression, always forget. Yeah, I'd like to have the graduated ratcheting system as well some times, but I'm happy with my 105
