Dura Ace 7800 Front Derailleur Installation/Adjustment Question

Greetings,

I just installed a new D/A 10sp front derailler for the
first time. Noticed when shifting, the feel of the shift
lever when going to the big chainring was very stiff -
nothing like the buttery smooth action when shifting the
rear derailler.

Most disturbing was the loud sound when shifting from the
big to the small chainring. This isn't just a loud click but
almost a bang, It vibrates the entire frame and makes a
really harsh jolt felt through the crankarm. Not only that
but it feels like it takes way too much effort to move the
lever (going in either direction).

This can't be right. It's so different from the rear
derailler's super smooth action, something must be wrong.

Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks!

The 10s left lever has a higher mech advantage because it is
longer. Ensure the BB guide is clean and lubed. Also ensure
the inner wire and housing (REc 5mm!!) is smooth..if all
above is set, it is as good as it's gonna be. The 10s front
der does seem to have a stronger spring...

It does pop down pretty hard, it should shift up pretty
easily though (atleast it does on my 2 DA10 bikes).

1. Mount on the correct (side) of the pivot?

2. Cable is too tight?

I would give DA10 a try if Shimano drops the price of the
STIs by $100.
