Ever fallen in love with someone, you shouldn’t have fallen in love with?

This is a title from 1980’s song by the Buzzcocks – but the question still stands.
Have you ever fallen in love with someone, that you shouldn’t have?

Affairs of the heart are very trick at the best of times.
A friend of mine, when he was in his 20’s, got involved with a married woman.
My friend met her through work (at the time she worked in the local bank).
His company did a lot of work with that particular bank and my friend used to meet this
woman at company social nights.
They started socialising after work and one thing led to another and they ended up being an item.

This threw up several problems.
One problem being that she was married with three kids.
Second problem was that he went head over heels for this woman because he was getting some on a regular basis and thought that it was brilliant!
Third and most importantly, this all occurred in a small town and her husband found
out.

Ended up very messily all round.

Sure I have but not the same situation as this. My negative realtionships were mainly due to borderline schizophrenia and or neurosis and I am not talking about me.
So many with so many issues out there and I am not taking about cycling magazines.

yes, but not with the negative implications you put forward, lim. the one i think of still holds my heart even with the passage of so many years which has been detrimental to other relationships i've had. part of me is glad that i have such fond memories of her, and, in that i never married her, didn't make her cry over those years with my insensitivity.

a variation on the theme, perhaps.

This thread is way too deep, somebody post some nude photos of some hot chicks quickly so I can clear my head.

and to think he started all this fuss with a reference to a buzzcocks song.

Yeah, the girls hate it when they hook up with racing cyclists who have better looking shaved legs than they do... :p

If you think boning a friends significant other is awkward - you should try doing your friends mother when you're a teenager. Apparently it can lead to all kinds of strange moments later on... Just sayin'

That's right. Friend seeing you with his mom compromised means trouble, and friend's dad catching you with friend's sister can lead to worse trouble. Both happening in short order leads to a very bad month.

Time to switch to another Buzzcocks song. How about "Orgasm Addict"?

1976, move to Kentucky for a teaching job; quickly meet heartthrob of my life; start dating; her ex-Marine drug-addled gun-toting ex-boyfriend takes exception; skip to threats on life, concrete blocks through car windshields, car chases, police stakeouts, gun purchase (by me), violent arrest (him), testify in court (me), several year prison sentence (him).

It was worth it.

women i just love regardless, it's their husbands i can't stand. :D

Beautiful, intelligent, talented, but so f**cking bipolar. It lasted 2 years and then I thought it died a sudden death. Unfortunately it came back to life 6 years later, and like a dumb ass, I fell for her all over again. Lasted all of six months and is dead forever now. She has gone to severe addiction and I cannot stand that.

I actually have similar story but not as intense. The girl was bad enough. She would be parked in my driveway when I got home after driving for 3 hours to get there. This happened several times.
I went to visit her in her hometown once where her ex confronted me in a bar.Nothing actually happened at tyat point. He said he just wanted to embarass her in public. Later he chased us across town. I wouldn't stop due to the fact she told me he was usually armed so I drove to the police station. The officer there told me " you don't want to mess with him, he is crazy". No s**t Barney!
I requested that an officer escort her home and I got the hell out of there never to return.
To this day I don't know which one was crazier. I never did know what her last name.
