Going to make these for the first time. Tons of recipes on the net,
but I'm wondering if anyone has a favorite they'd like to pass along.

Slice a pocket into the middle nice thick chops, season the chops with salt
and pepper, brown them in a frying pan, add some apple juice, cover and
simmer for 20 minutes. -

ages! Might have to do that again some time soon 🙂 -

apricots to it. Most any Fruit pairs well with pork. I haven't tried
bananas so I say most.--

I have more shopping choices than you do. But I just called and yeah, they
are $3.79/lb. Dang, that's a lot for bone-in chops. The boneless are a
dollar more! This reminds me, now is the time for me to call and argue with the butcher
about wanting a bone-in standing rib roast for New Years. He'll say I mean
boneless, I'll say no, bone-in. He'll say boneless until I want to break
every bone in his head! I said BONE IN you bonehead! LOLThe bones are great for "beef ribs" and also great for making beef stock. I
hate it when the butcher tries to sell me something that will cost more.
What, does he work on commission?!Jill

pretty good for meat prices in my area.Lou

But that is just one store. I thought you said above, that you had
more choices. What are the prices at the other stores in your area?
Maybe that is just a store with high prices?I know in my area, I can find a wide range of prices for the same
thing, including meats like that. If I go to one store, I can expect
to pay about $2 or more per pound than if I go to another chain. For
example, my beef short ribs. I get those at a "lower end"
supermarket. If I go to another major chain in this area, I can
expect to pay substantially more for the short ribs.Christine

Everyone thinks I lie about the price of food where I live. Chicken has
been incredibly cheap, as low as 49 cents a pound for a whole cut up
chicken. It's now back up to $1.49/lb. Bone-in chicken breast halves are
about the same and boneless chicken breast halves are $1.79/lb.I've been accused of lying about food costs here before. Meanwhile pork
("the other white meat"😉 is much more costly that that silly chicken. I
don't control the prices, I simply report them :-DJill

Kroger has the same price (within pennies). Charlie's meat market has the
same price (again, within pennies). I don't shop at "Super" Walmart for
food so I couldn't speak to their prices. Does Super Target sell food? I
don't know. I don't have a Costco membership so I couldn't say about their
prices, either.I went to Costco once. The stuff they sold was in such large quantities...
like Sam's Club. Um, I don't have room for these packages of frozen STUFF!
I did get some books at Costco (Thanks for the gift card, Nancy!)Yes, there are choices. But not choices I'd necessarily make shopping for
food. And when I went to the Mexican market down the street looking for
tamales, the one ones they had were *sweet*. I don't like sweet stuff. I
wanted some nice savoury pork tamales. So that was a bust.Jill

tonight) and a 3# chuck roast (pot roast tomorrow) for the same
price. Granted, the chuck was on sale, but still...--
