download. So I am again back at square one since I started into
problems. As soon as I finished the download from the head unit to my
PC the HACTronic software hung. So, I lost the data, but a bigger
issue is the hang. I went out to the Veltec website and followed the
link to the downloadable stuff. I unistalled all of the older
versions (1.5 build 40) and installed v1.51 build 50 I also unstalled
the drivers and downloaded and reinstalled the "newer" drivers from
the download site, to no avail. It now hangs up with Trainer, Tour
and HACTronic. I am running XP.
Paul: Are you using the serial interface for downloading, or the newer USB?
The reason I ask is because you mentioned newer "drivers" and, as far as I
know, there are no "drivers" involved with serial-port operation.
And when you say the software "hung", what did it take to recover? Were you
able to safely kill the application from the control-alt-delete (task
manager) box?
I use the HAC-4 with Windows XP, using a serial port, and have had no
downloading issues or software hangs... at least not yet! And my computer
is so loaded with software & drivers dating all the way back to Win 3.1 that
it's amazing anything works.

Quoted message said:I need some big time help with my HAC4. I got it back in early Feb
and had nothing but problems. First it was the software (returned it
to Veltec for a new set), then the head unit read 168 degrees F, then
on the next head unit the stopwatch button did not work. I am on my
third head unit and I just went out for my first ride with everything
reconnected and what I thought was working.
When I got home, in order to ensure that the software worked I did a

Can anybody help me???
Thanks,
