Heartrate Monitor/Computer Conflict

Hello,
I have bike computer mounted on my handlebars and also a heartrate monitor.
My problem is that especially going downhill the HRM shoots up to over 240 ! (does the same when I wear it on my wrist)
I have traced the problem to the computer magnet on the front wheel which was causing a magnetic field build up which in turn caused the HRM to give false readings.

I would like to know if there are any types of computers that function without a wheel magnet as, I like to ride with both HRM & computer. Or could the computer be mounted on the rear wheel ? only problem there is that I would either have to mount the computer on the crossbar which would make viewing it awkward or find a way to extent the cable long enough to reach the handlebars.
