Not wishing to sound like a snob, but it sounds like a pile of pants.
Buying cheap is fine, but cheap disguised as expensive is a big no-no.
Your Apollo Juice would probably last longer. I might ride it if they gave
me £40.
My mountain is less complicated than that, but a whole lot better and
hasn't led a hard life.
It's for sale at the mo, if you're interested.
BTW I thought you wanted a hybrid?

close. an auction nearby. i thought the bikes might be rubbish but
they are cheap . i dont want to spend £100 + on a bike straight away
after such a long lay off. the most i paid in Holland was about £80
for an excellent classic Dutch bike (not a hybrid just a 3 geared

nothing about you. Are you a man? A woman? Small, Large? Into offroading?
Want cheap transport? Answers to any of these questions suggests totally
different bikes each time.
If you have your heart set on an MTB I would say go for something better
than the ones you're looking at right now. Secondhand can be OK - if you
want to spend less than the Specialised will go for I would either keep
looking at Ebay - ask us if you want an opinion - or go to a local bike
shop that sells secondhand bikes. This way, you can try out as many as you
like.

Is this bike any good? Highly unlikely and it's billed as a DH bike c/w
triple crown forks which means it problably weighs more than A Very Heavy
Thing.

How much should you pay? No more than it's worth to you.

A little web search shows it to be worth about £160-200. I wouldn't touch
front-only suspension at this price[1] let alone full suspension. The
denizens of this ng only recommend getting full suspension as you near
£1,000! Front suspension starts getting good at £400-500. The bike is
good for posing on but not much else - components will be cheap and the
bike will weigh a tonne.

Usual recommendation if buying new is start at £200 for a basic bike
without suspension. Only get front suspension at £400 or so, full
suspension as you near £1,000.

[1] It's cheap as chips, so will be heavy, too bouncy, not last long enough
etc. It'll make the bike a pig to ride on the smooth, and probably too
bouncy on the rough too, especially as it ages.

Do you live near Edinburgh? Or anywhere that has a bicycle recycling project
like the Bike Station? (www.bikestation.org.uk) They frequently even have
the classic 3-speed Dutch roadsters, but also have a good selection of
"normal" bikes for sale at silly prices.

Alternatively, browse the ads in your local shops and papers to see what's
going second-hand. If you're used to riding a semi-decent bike, you'll
probably be disappointed by one of the new ones you posted details of.

Just remembered from your earlier posts that you're probably a bit far from
Edinburgh... I'm fairly confident that similar schemes will exist in the
other capital.

Im in London now. oma fiets (grandma bikes) and opa fiets (grandpa
bikes ) are great bikes. I wish I had owned a brommer though. Just for

Unless you have the style, people arent (generally) going to get as far as
