I have asked around and have been told that it could be dangerous, just lookingto get in contact with somebody else who has done this ride.
I will be riding from Galway to Dublin in July, is the M6 the safest route?

The M6 is a motorway and as such bicycles are not allowed on it - in fact anything doing under 50km isn;t so no scooters either. THere is the old road, through towns like Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Athlone, Lucan, Maynooth that you could take - i think its the R446.
