I have purchased a Dura Ace 7950 compact crank, and find the 34t inner ring a bit small. Can i use a 36t from a previous generation crankset? I rear that it is a 110mm BCD. I imagine that the inner ring is much less critical with no ramps as such-would that ce correct?

Thanks for any help/advice.

Yes ...

Other than cosmetics, the brand-and-model of the inner ring (presuming the correct BCD ... doesn't matter on a Double crankset (okay, the exception is the 110BCD inner for a so-called 4-arm Campagnolo which has an odd spacing for the 5th chainring bolt hole).

Perfect-Thank you.
