  1. Hey,

Justin. Go away. Get into another line of work. Your latest
at www.bike.com is the worst yet. Horseshit about the
Aussie national jersey doing the country proud for coming
in last place. Your severe Australian rider love affair is
affecting your perspective. Do you collect used Aussie
    water bottles?

    Thanks, Ronde Champ

    See you on the 25th.

Is it just me, or is it somewhat disrepectful to make a
national jersey wearer come in 6 minutes in arrears by
towing an injured teammate? Although nearly everyone has a
domestique role to play, national jersey wearers should be
afforded some respect and be allowed to represent the jersey
in the best way possible. This does not include coming in so
far behind that the fans on the side of the road will wonder
what it takes to gain an Aussie national jersey if the
wearer is lagging so far behind on a flat stage. Send back a
more anonymous FdJ rider to do the towing.

Indeed. That would be like making the yellow jersey drop
back to fetch water bottles. You would just never see that.

    Excellent post. Excellent.

    As I recall, it was Pena's choice to fetch water bottles;
Bruyneel told him he wasn't obligated to perform domestique
duties while in yellow, but Pena wanted to. See:

Contrast with Matt Wilson's comments in cycling-cycling-
    news.com/news.php?id=news/2004/jul04/jul05news2 which make
it clear that it was his assigned duty to nurse McGee to
    the finish.

Or more recently make him the sacrificial lamb in the lead
    out train.

Since they were going to spend a long time together, McGee
specifically requested a domestique who could engage in a
detailed discussion of the weekend's rugby matches.

-Ben Too bad the Rabbitohs suck this year. What is a
Rabbitoh, anyway? I think "Rabbitohs vs. Eels" is possibly
the best matchup in all of sports.

A breakfast cereal. Try the frosted ones.
