just read the statements as reported in cycling news. strikes me that pat is a touch defensive in that interview.

Incidentally asked by journalists at his book launch who was the best cyclist he's seen at the Tour de France and in the peloton generally, David Walsh replied.................Greg LeMond.
 
as far as i know LeMond was not too succesfull in his management role at the defunct Mercury team, afterwards he got bitterly involved on the Armstrong saga, albeit having a good reason to fight against Trek, im not sure he would be the right person to head the UCI at this moment, i also suspect that he doesn't have either all the ties, support and connections to lead the world of cycling,
