Possibly, but a USO is closer to a useable thing than a BSO. For
example, you don't need to worry about useless breaks or
unmaintainable gears on a USO.

I'd probably plan on upgrading it before they start practising riding
off the roof of the house on it, but for riding on the flat without
too many hops, steps or drops it will probably be fine.

I asked DW to pick one up for me to use as a spare. My first impression
is that it's very good VFM.

I haven't put it together yet. I want to tighten the spokes up first (I
recommend that you do the same).

If you're over the stated weight limit of 80kg then be careful. Judging
from the stated dimensions I'd say that if your inside leg > 32" then
you might want to get a longer seatpost. 25.4mm seatposts are readily
available from <http://www.unicycle.uk.com/>

The biggest problem I've found with it is the Woods valve - but I've got
3 other wheels in the house with Woods valves, so I've learnt how to
cope with them.

I have a complaint! I went to my local Lidl (Swindon) to find they'd
sold out. Wouldn't have gone all that way if you hadn't made me.

:)

Any regular Lidl customers know if they are likely to do a similar
offer again?

There were still plenty at my Lidl last night. Mind you, Shawlands is
not what you would call a great cycling or unicylcing location, or any
other sport for that matter.

What I really can't get my head around are the Lidl horse-riding special
offers. Hoof wax and horse blankets in the middle of the high-rise?
Perhaps in Dublin.

If you're to the north of Swindon, there was a big stack of them in
Cirencester yesterday morning...

...but don't blame me if they've all gone now.

Managed to resist the Unicycle. LED lights were good value.

That's fairly typical of Lidl - it seems that the offers are decided
on a Europe-wide basis, as I see the same things on offer in both
France and Germany. Cycling clothes which, for example, disappear
within hours in some German cities, are still in the shops weeks later
in French suburbs where cycling is not so common.
