It seems they are more into scooters and serie A.

ps.My Tea Shop under London Bridge station has a
photograph of a racing cyclist on the wall. Does anyone
know the story?

I'd say it was very likely and if you hadn't suggested it, I would have.

They definitely have a telly in there and it usually has something Italian on. The Giro would be a very strong candidate.

I spent election night 1997 in there, when the telly wasn't showing anything Italian for once. The mood when the Portillo result came in was pure jubilation.

This is one of these times when I actually took in what
Duffield waffles about !! Soho could well be the location,
seem to also recall pizzas being mentioned.

Just had a quick look at Bar Italia couldn't find any sign
of cycling. Of course it doesn't need to be "that" bar, if
anyone has any other ideas, I'd be grateful. Jan

There are a lot of Italian cafes (and bars?) in an around
Soho---is Little Italy part of Soho?

www.classiccafes.co.uk lists plenty of cafes but none that
have changed their formica since 1970ish.

We spent an enjoyable couple of hours in the Bar Italia
today watching The Giro on Rai. So if any other URCs would
like to join us today and/or tomorrow, then please come
along. Jan
