I'm intending to do the following some time in the next month or so;
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Start in the centre of Buxton.
Climb out of Buxton on Macclesfield Old Rd, turning off south to meet
the A54.
Across Axe Edge Moor to Dane Head then SW past Orchard Common to Three
Shires Head.
Head north to meet the A54 (again).
Cross A54, through Danebower Hollow to the Cat and Fiddle Pub.
From the Cat and Fiddle go down Shooter's Clough to the Errwood
Reservoir.
Along the west bank of the resr. then up "The Street" to Pym Chair.
Follow the road directly north and branch off to go past Windgather
Rocks.
Head down through Goyt Forest and Overton Hall Farm to come to the Water
Treatment Works at the north end of Fernilee Reservoir.
Follow the path of the river Goyt north then branch off east onto Elnor
lane and Long lane to reach Combs.
Take Ridge lane to White Hall Centre.
Follow the Roman rd south East until it meets the A5004 going back into
Buxton, thence back to the start point.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
It's about 26 miles and is the route of the sadly-defunct Goyt Valley
Challenge. I'll be walking this route as part of the build-up to the
K2B.
If anyone fancies doing it with me, I'm very flexible as to date/time.
Takers?
