Hi everyone
I am new to this group and thought I should introduce myself. I am a 30 y o Swedish woman. I am
currently expecting my first child (12 weeks pregnant). At my first antenatal cheup they discovered
that I have type 2 diabetes (most likely not gestational diabetes) .
I am now supposed to control my BG with diet. This is REALLY difficult being pregnant and all.
(Sometimes I have carvings for food like pasta with pesto or fries and burgers, potatoe crips and
dip or steak on toast, but I never give in to them).
I am thinking if it was only me I could allow myself to "fall off the waggon" every once in a while
but it is not just me, it's the baby as well.
On wednesday my diabetes nurse is going to teach me hjow to use injections so I can get started
straight away if my BG becomes higher. My values now are (all in mml/l) fasting around 6.5, before
meals 5.5 and an hour and a half after meals around 6-8 depending.
Are these values high or very high or what? I have no clue.
Also I have seen a diabetes nurse and a dietist but no doctor. Should I worry about that?

The first ten years of your life you try to be just like your parents. Then for then years you try
to be as little as your parents as possible. Then you gradually change in to them.
