new wheel or rebuild?

I recently posted a question regarding the bent rim of my front campagnolo Proton wheel. The repair (by a good repairer) is really not satisfactory so I'm looking at one of 2 possibilities: should I replace the rim and have the wheel hand rebuilt or just buy a new wheel? essentially the cost is the same for each option here (Australia). Is there any noticeable difference in quality?

Who's making the new wheel? What hubs are being used / what hub do you
already have?
