Since I'm from Maryland, I wonder if I did, too! (Neighborhood pics sure
look familiar.)

When I was 9 or 10, my friend Kim and his family moved to our street
from...CALIFORNIA! One day his old man came home in a brand-new Fastback
Mustang -- maroon with two white racing stripes. (Thought it was a '64 but
it may have been a '65.) I must have ridden in that thing 25 times or more.

We knew it was cool, but not *COOL*. The car was so ahead of its time...

Sweet. We had a 68 Mustang coupe (289 2bbl). Fun to drive, but in need
of the treatment this car got.

I had a 70 convertible in High School. Sweet ride.
302 engine. Girls.... Lot's of Girls.... ;-)

Also owned a 69 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible. 383
engine. Big bad Mopar. :-)

Cool. The first car I ever owned was a '65 Mustang. Of course back then it
wasn't exactly a classic. I bought it in 1975 and paid $500 dollars. Powder
blue exterior with white leather buckets. I loved that car. I wonder if it's
still around.....................

we had a '63 4-door Rambler Ambassador which ended up with some unknown
amount of mileage. 327 V8, 4.11 posi, 3 on the tree with overdrive. It got
very difficult to find parts for in the early 90's when I sold...er gave it
to my brother (never paid me for it) for his only means of transportation at
the time. Dad used it to pull travel trailers across the country, it made
two trips on the Alcan Highway all the way to Fairbanks and got close to 20
mpg on the highway. Very advanced car for its time.

Were the '65s still built on the Falcon platforms?

Not that I have much to say. My first car was a '65 Barracuda, which was
really just a fastback Valiant. I was a little embarrassed to find that
V-8 had less cubes (273) than my girlfriend's homely Falcon (289).

I learned to drive (1974) in a '63 Rambler A (no 327 V8, but I had the
plastic seat cover !). Not exactly a chick magnet ;-)

My first car was a '74 Cougar (351). Great peel outs, but East
Brunswick had richer kids with nicer cars that got the primo chicks. 🙁

I had to settle for the crumbs and the Freshman/Junior cheerleaders who
just needed an in to the Proms.

maybe not a chick magnet but sure was nice being able to fold the seats
completely flat........

would have been an awesome motor with the 4 bbl carb instead of the 2 bbl
that dad ordered.......torque tubes are awesome drive train components :-).

Eh, I didn't even have a car in HS. I used to take my dates out in my
dad's Corolla hatchback. I wasn't into the kinds of chicks that went for
the fancy car guys anyway.
