Hi,

I'd appreciate any help - I've read the old posts and haven't yet seen an answer.

I have a Polar 720i and can't get the USB IR interface to work.

I have:

1. The USB connection plugged in.
2. Checked USB as the port in the options / preferences / hardware tab of the software version 4.00.24 (I've also unsuccessfully tried IrDA and Com 1).
3. I select connect on the watch and select the desired exercise.
4. I make sure the watch and IR are near each other.

I can see the IR flashing Orange but I keep getting an error message.

Any advice is greatly appreciated

Best regards,

what error message are you getting? i use an IR, but connected via serial port.

i frequently get "no answer from HR monitor". i have found that the IR connection between the watch and the IR unit is very susceptible to glare. i often have to cover the 2 components with a dark piece of paper, or my hand to get the 2 to communicate.

It has something to do with Microsoft XP, I have had the same problem with the USB as my laptop does not have a serial port. I was told that there is a patchs you can download from Microsoft & Polar that will fix the problem but don’t know enough about computers to fix the problem yet, but would also be keen for any advice on the problem and cure.
