Well, most people who use alternative therapies know that there is no
alternative treatment for many conditions. Unfortunately in this case,
this idiot preyed upon the parents of a newborn, and I don't know of
many new parents who wouldn't look for nonsurgical options, although in
cases where surgery is the only option it's a no-brainer in most cases.
Of course, I'm completely unburdened by the specifics of this case,
other than what I've just read here, but I think manslaughter was
probably too light, but murder implies intent...
Anyone who wants to use alternative therapies should really educate
themselves about just what alt med can and can't do. There's no way I
would attempt to treat a serious medical condition with herbs, but for
my sinusitis and other minor problems they work just fine...for me.
Education is the key.
