Replacing chain in Schwinn Frontier FS

Howdy,
I was just given a Schwinn Frontier FS and I need a new chain. The whole chain is rusty and it skips sometimes. I dont know if anything needs to be adjusted but I know I need a new chain. I will more than likely replace it myself but what chain do I need to use? Thanks,

SRAM PC48 chain is a good value for Shimano 7/8 speed
