did you see that? It states:

Perhaps you don't mind seeing a few vulnerable road users, or the

It may be worth noting that when this same subject was raised in
uk.rec.driving, a NG not noted for harbouring anti-motorist views, the
general consensus appeared to be that these bollards were a good
thing, and the people crashing into them were numpties. MattB didn't
participate in that one, despite the subject obviously being of great
interest to him and it being rather more relevant to that NG.

(the thread then developed into an amusing mess as it drifted.

There was one numpty (in Saudi Arabia) who posted in support on the Daily
Wail site, but the other 10 comments were all in support.

EVERY one of the perpetrators in the video was tailgating. The risk of
tailgating is high, so the advice doesn't apply.

Exactly, this is the /minimum/ requirement, and only suitable for such
areas. Where the risk of tailgating is higher the safety requirements
are /higher/. The point being that the bollards should /never/
interfere with any road user whilst rising.

These have been giving the resisdents of Manchester much amusement. The
local paper carried full page colour spreads for every new victim, and
after a week or so of neutrality over the matter, correctly judged the
public's view and started laughing at the idiot drivers. I was surprised,
but pleasantly so.

amongst the Fraternity of Idiot Motorists. Most amusing.

Exactly. I am incensed at the behaviour towards trolls in this
newsgroup. Trolls have every right to carry on there own lives, making
house and home, bringing up young, and carrying on their own business.
Elements of this newsgroup seem intent on starving the poor blighters

Yeah, but the really really daft thing is that there are some disabled
parking spaces AFTER the bollards, which is just asking for people to try to
tailgate in.
