  1. Our dig camera of 6 yrs finally gave up its ghost so we bit the bullet and
got a new one. We tested it out in Cathedral Pines this past weekend (I
still need to figure out how to work all the buttons and features). Its very
small and light which makes it great for taking along on rides.

Here's a few of the pics we took:

So, we are very happy with the purchase and now its time to start posting
pics of rides again. It also has video, when we figure it out, we'll get one
    going.

    Now, onto the RR...

The trail was in excellent shape and we both felt great being out and
riding. Plenty of noobies and white running shoe wearing mtb'rs, but that's
ok, everyone has the same rights on the trails. As most of you know, last
year was a bad one for me (serious illness followed by a near death car
accident), so I packed on a few pounds (30 lbs, yes, that's true) due to
inactivity and depression. Jim followed me in the same route and added a
some pounds on too (sympathy pounds?). Well, we've been working hard at
getting out there again, and getting back to living our lives. So far, its
been going very good for both of us. I shed off those 30 lbs and I am back
down to normal fighting weight in the PixieWeight category (the Heavy Bag is
coming in soon). Jim took 15 pounds off and will be getting back to his
normal weight soon. Things are looking up. We have the bikes ready and the
kayaks too...now its time to start KICKING ASS!

Hmmm, camera lust. Nikon pays the bills but my pinups would be a nice Epson

    lol! BTW, that's a cool sticker : )

Yeah, I love the photos from the bigger cameras, but I've got one (older
Pentax ME Super 35mm) that I never use because I like the convenience of
    the smaller point-n-shoot varieties.
So for the time being I'm going to stick with the smaller ones. I also
don't worry about it as much when I'm bringing a $250 device into the
elements as I would if it were a $2500 (or way more) gadget.

I've crashed so many times with my gear, all it does is leave large dents in
my body and keeps on shooting. I'm a sucker for extreme III flash cards
though...being "EXTREME" and all lol! My problem is I leave remote flash
heads and radio triggers in the bush. Anyone riding Gillard that finds a

Wow! Glad to see you popped in here at least.
    I remember those rides fondly.
Carla and I still talk about that ride at RP where you drank your
camelbak dry 5 miles into a 20 mile ride. If I recall it was Africa hot
    that day!
Stewart Airport was a gas as well!
I hope you get some time for some dirt my friend.

I certainly miss those rides with you and Mrs.J. Fond memories indeed. LOL,
