I am thinking of riding fixed or single speed until next spring. I am currently riding a beater with a flip flop rear hub. I keep breaking spokes when I ride it fixed but have no problems when I ride it single speed. Both fixed and single speed have 42x16 gearing.
I have another wheel I can convert it has an old suntour hub. I am thinking of converting it to 42x18. Should I go fixed or single speed.
I feel guilty riding single speed but I keep breaking spokes fixed.
Does it make that much difference which way I go.

If it were me I'd go fixie; you are only gonna have one gear and fixie is way too cool :) It's really personal preference...
