Source for cracked corn?

supermarkets I go to -- It's harder to find processed items
than their unprocessed sources. For example, hulled rice is

You might try looking at John Cope's Dried Sweet Corn which
can be found at this site:
caneandreed.comcopescorn.htmOpen ↗

You might need to chuck it in the blender to make the
pieces a bit smaller, but it is pure dried corn and cooks
up nicely.

cracked corn with the germ and hull removed will get you
hominy. you can grind it and get grits. mmmm the wonderful
possibilites of corn.

When we had chickens we could buy fine cracked corn (for
chicks), medium (for pullets) and coarse )for mature
chickens). The feed store can tell you if it's OK for
human consumption. Also, we can buy it at a store called
Frank's, which is a gardening and seed chain in this area,
for bird feeders.

Try the closest feed mill. Cracked corn is a basic
ingredient in a lot of poultry feed and bird seed, but you
may have to buy a 50 lb. sack of it.

But hominy is corn treated with lye, the pulp soaked
and expanded. Dried or not, it does not equate to
"cracked corn".

Most bulk food markets sell flaked hominy and cracked hominy
by the pound. Very good for this sort of thing.
