Suspention Seat Post For MTB

I got a RockShox seat post before the Mont 24hr. I'm glad that I did, and
it was cheaper than buying a dually ($120 from memory). There's not much of
a weight penalty, and it'll save your [censored] from the sharper bumps. You may
not need one if you can cope with lower tyre pressures, a gel seat, and/or
centring the seat post stem on the seat rails. My only problem was that the
diameter of the suspension seat post was a fraction of a mm less that the
original, meaning that a shim was not an option. However, a piece of a Coke
is the accepted work-around.

I got the RockShox myself and it's pretty lightweight. Whilst it won't turn
your bike into a full suspension one in any way, it _does_ protect your
scrotum a bit when crossing those bumps you didn't see coming.

Recommended, just as long as you've got the right expectations.
