tattoos??

I'm probably in the minority but I've never found tattoos at all attractive. Why permanently mark your skin to show you appreciation to something when you could easily do the same but using some others means. Like a piece of jewellery or something?

I hate tattoos since I don't want in my body a text or picture that I can't remove. In addition from what I have heard it is said to be quite painful to get one on your skin.

They can be removed....albeit more painfully but then as cyclists we know that a bit of pain never hurt anyone😉

From what I've been told a needle is used to do the tattoo but my friend says that it's just like something scratching along your skin rather than the feeling of a "constant injection" which might be perceived.

I agree with that but it just something I wouldn't want to do myself. The tattoos are quite expensive and I hate people with facial tattoos - it makes them look like a junk.

The grease will wash off but that calf muscle took years and good genes to put there😉

I don't have any tattoos on me, and I don't think they would suit me in any case. I think tattoos look great on guys who have significant muscle mass, but not good on thin or overweight blokes. And I absolutely don't like tattoos on women, it just makes them look cheap and trashy.

Hahahaha Who hasn't had this kind of "tattoos" during a life devoted to cycling? I did, several times.

I've got a permanent one tattooed on my inner calf muscle.

I don't have any tattoos and don't envision myself ever getting one. It just has never appealed to me at all. That said, I don't have a problem with others getting them.

I have never been a fan of tattoos. I think I would pass on the opportunity.

I like art in every form and I especially think that human body is a piece of art itself. I do not have a single tattoo on my body although I would like to. The problem is I never found anything meaningful at least to put permanently on my skin. For example I have few things that I really like. The book Little Prince is one of those things but I don't see a rose on my back as something that I would like to have. I also love football, writing and the first would be a stupid idea while the second is okay I think. Maybe a feather in a notebook as a symbol of my constant writing.
As for the cycling I have seen a wonderful small tattoo. A bike tattooed with one line continuously.

Nah no tattoos as of yet.

I would love to get some but worried I'll get sick of them. I was thinking about just getting 'mom' on my wrist because she has my name on her wrist too.

Not worried about the pain though, some people like the feeling but I spoke to someone who had a tattoo on his neck and pointed out what areas hurt when he had it done.

I designed both of my tattoos myself, so at least it's art I can live with. The one is too girly to mention but the other is a throw-back to my 'gorehound' days of yesteryear when I decided I had to have a vampire skull with a vampire bat background. That one is in a spot that seldom sees the sun so it retains its original coloring, black and red. The other had yellow and pink in it but those colors have long since faded out to nothing.

Tattoos give meaning to people and help remember good times. I'll never understand the mentality of people saying "Why would anyone get a tattoo". Just because you don't have sufficient reasons or meaning to your life that you want a tattoo on yourself doesn't mean you have to be judgemental of other people or assume their personality/life choices based off of a tattoo.

I have no problem with anyone who wants a tattoo. Go for it. For me personally, I am not a Viking, a pirate, a South Sea Islander, gypsy, prison inmate or gang member, so I don't see the need for one. Same with piercings. I hope to leave this world with the same number of holes I had when I entered...🙂

I'm not to fond of the idea of getting a tattoo, I know that if I had to choose something now I would probably regret it later. I don't mind seeing it on others but it's not for me.

Granted I'm old fuddy duddy, but I don't understand all this tat stuff, I could understand one small one, but covering oneself with them? I often wonder how those are going to look when you're 50 or over, and how will you feel about having them? What happens if one day you look in the mirror and say "schit, why did I get all these tats?" Don't forget to what is fad now won't be in 20 years, so then you'll like someone I saw the other day, I guy in his mid 60's maybe 70's wearing clothes and hair style from the mid 60's and had his early to mid 60's music cranked up in his car, he looked like a cornball, but at least he could change his clothes to something more to the times if he wanted, but tats can't be changed or deleted without paying a lot of money, and light skin people cannot get tats completely removed. Maybe not everyone will change their minds, but I have a feeling most will, and most will come to regret it.

What about those ear lobe enlarger earring thingys? What if you change you mind in 20 years and now you have this huge ugly looped skin with a hole just hanging there?

I one tattoo to over up a scar I got when I was a kid. It is on my back so it wouldn't really affect anything or look odd when I grow old unless I'm going to be that guy who never has a shirt on.
