Firstly, swampy will be [censored]@!!!

He's the most overrated sprinter in the peloton. Riders like him contribute pretty much nothing to a team when they aren't winning, sprinters need to win often. Whereas when and non sprinter or even stars like Chavanel, Cancellara or Gilbert are not winning we'll see them in breaks or working/racing throughout the race.

Hmmm Goss also needed to show himself this year.

Milne rose to the occasion. Acting as his own attorney, he admitted to one charge of an act of outraging public decency. "I'm not disputing what was done was wrong but bear in mind I thought I was being discreet," Milne said about his stroke of bad luck. Milne was faced with a stiff fine of $98, plus court costs.

9. This is a pretty good article; cyclingtips.com.auhigh fat low carb diets the effects and how to try one

Where do you guys sit on 'whole foods/carbs' VS 'fat' VS ' a lot of fat & tons of protein' debate?

I doubt I could cut all of these without going insane, the fake processed [censored] and dairy no problem - but rice, spuds and fruit?????? no way!

• Cereals and grains (including oats)
• Fruit (except berries)
• Biscuits
• Bread, toast and wraps
• Fruit juice
• Cakes
• Pasta
• Yoghurt (small amounts of plain yoghurt are OK)
• Lollies
• Rice
• Sugar as an ingredient in anything
• Potato
• Milk (small amounts are OK)
• Sports drinks
• Corn
• Ice cream
• Soft drinks
• Legumes
• Cordial
10. I'm a wannabe paleo/moderate-carb/high-ish fat and protein guy, but I don't have the discipline, so I eat pretty normally, but have tons more vegies than most people. Since getting onto the anti-grain thing several years ago, I never have bowls of pasta or breakfast cereal, etc (we just don't need it), but I occasionally have rice if it's going free. :-) However, I still have a peanut butter and jam sandwich for desert :-) ...or as toast. Ooo, baby. So, slamming down a sandwich is my go-to food to satisfy late night cravings. Yes, bread is my weakness.

As far as I know, the low-ish carb thing is fine for regular folk, but doesn't really work for endurance athletes.

Anthony Colpo is my diet guru :-)

Nope.
But it looks like beer is ok, so fine. That's all a man really needs for a balanced diet.

That's retarded. I'd rather be a fat [censored] than cut that [censored] out. It's ace.

Colpo's writing is a pisser, I like his style. been reading his stuff for yonks.

I posted a comment on the article yesterday calling that dude out for using olsen, then it was deleted next time I checked. I reckon using olsen to sell low carb is as stupid as saying "pro cyclists don't dope and are therefore clean, unless they take drugs". Or "I'm a pro runner and I don't eat carbs, except for then and now and before - you shouldn't eat them ever either, try this magic low carb diet i'm selling"

I must admit I do troll paleo/low carbers when they sell it as an option for endurance athletes, or post bizarre testimonials that read like they've been cut/pasted from the fatkins book of testimonials. Prt one is full of 'em.

Sounds like you've got a nice balanced mix going on there mate.

Isn't jono a low carber? if he is that kinda throws my thinking way out the window.

Steve, my bride and I are on something very similar. Sugar (fructose) is the devil's food. Meat is ace. Animal fats are grouse. Eggs are perfect. So are vegies ('cept potatoes). Brown rice is okay and so is a little pasta. Wholemeal bread only. Etc etc. I've dropped two kilos in the last three weeks. Still crave everything that's worth living for though... muffins, toast with peanut butter, muffins, cakes, biscuits, chocolates, muffins, fruit loops, muffins, heavy muffins, fluffy muffins, savory muffins, sweet muffins and muffins. I don't think I'll last. Muffins. I miss them.

That's funny about them deleting your post, although kinda odd, coz they admit he was having "at least" 40g of carbs per hour. Colpo was a low-carber for ages (as you probably know), and he tried and tried to keep making it work after he got into cycling, reading all the research (as he does) and trying everything, but came out of it realizing he was better off changing his ways. However, his idea of carbs is sweet potato, peas, etc, and some fruit; nothing as sacrilicious as jam on toast. :-)

Isn't it amazing how some people defend their diet "philosophy" with such religious fervor?! [censored]! Who gives a fark?! :-)

I think Jono is a wannabe paleo guy, like me. :-)

17. I think when all the fads are done, we'll end up discovering that the "meat and three veg" our folks grew up with is probably the perfect diet. Apart from dying of culinary boredom.

I remember once when I was 19 or 20 I did this monster 230km ride in the bergs to Licola and return with this old dude who used to preach meat and three veg. The last 60km was gailforce block headwind with stinging rain and it was maybe 5 degrees and I was completely shattered. Being a poor student at the time I prolly had $5 to my name if is was lucky. We stopped at the only shop in this town cowwerr he refused to pay for any food cause he was saving what little cash he had for a 6'er of VB when he got home. I'm pretty sure i sat on all the way the back home!

The new age vegan hipsters in their white shoes, knee high socks and fluro team kit with fake sponsors aren't near as tough as that old [censored] with his meat, three veg and daily intake of beer

19. Thank you Mr Ambry!

The shots of me wearing it will have to wait another 5 kilos.

20. Method in his (small size shirt) madness. Put it on! Spill water. Win! YEP!

*wait, isn't it NOPE day? YEP?
