N=1 Read that book, just keep your mind open :-) Meanwhile, I'm off to eat some meat..

sure

2. Ohh edited!!!

I like glib :-P

3. PS "Keep your mind open" was hideousy patronising in hindsight. Ugh. Apologies,

With time and consideration and coffee what I meant was something like, I just honestly think, given you enjoyed D Gillespie's book and in light of the catalyst program, that this book is kind of a tome for that school of thought. Very well researched, well presented. Surpised I hadn't read it earlier.

Tags, have you read it?

4. Editied because, on reflection, it's only fair I read your recommended tome.

5. Anthony Colpo's book, The Great Cholesterol Con, is probably the best book I've ever read.

Not much time for reading at the moment unless it is a surgical pathology text, but I shall add it to my list.

Meat ..... hmmm ..... nice juicy piece of Cape Grim fillet - blue for preference.

Alas, not tonight. I have salmon for dinner.

I think he may be what is known in the trade as a spammer - check his other posts.

(your wonderful photo notwithstanding :-p )

Theme - best book you've ever read. I'll start (well, Nev technically did). Non fiction. Either The Conquest of Mexico - Hugh Thomas, or Rise and Fall of the Third Reich - William L Shirer. Bio. Probably my wicked wicked ways, Errol Flynn, though it is certainly embellished Fiction. Day of the Jackal. Frederick Forsyth.

14. Fiction - Life of Pi

Bio - not a big bio reader, so probably One Crowded Hour by Tim Bowden

Non-Fiction - Then There Was Man (my Year 7/8 history text)

and I have to throw in this one:
Best cookbook - The Australian and New Zealand Complete Book of Cookery (which was also my first cookbook)

And ......

Book I have never finished - Lord of the Rings, I have started to read it at least 6 times and failed to get past the first chapter each time.

Don't think it is - I didn't see any cyclists hanging around the fish shop :-p

Finally a change of subject

Best book? If you want a bio, nonfiction and fiction all in one; It's Not About the Bike.

It's got all the categories covered.

Non fiction: could be The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat by Oliver Sachs. But there's a lot of books crammed into the top 10 favourites when it comes to non-fiction. Bio: Patrick White by David Marr Fiction: Lord Of The Rings by Tolkien. Unlike Ma, I was obsessed with this book when I was a kid. I read it five times. Oddly, I'm not sure I could read it now.

18. Good ones ma, like the throw in of a cookbook! Lol at Steve. Should chuck in a cycling book. Slaying The Badger is ace. I liked Kelly too. Hard cnut. I read my son The Hobbit Paul when he was 7 or 8. Loved it when he got excited when I was reading a couple of chapters and couldn't wait for the next bit.

Hmm, have Asian spambots evolved to seem more human, or have they been defeated, and real people are back doing it (well, kids in sweatshops)?
The new M.O. seems to be: try to seem like a sincere 'forumer', then, after half-a-dozens posts, be subtle about hitting us with the real mission :-)

20. I've read so few books that I could just about reel them all off in a short paragraph. :-) .....

Elaine: "Jerry, these guys actually read."
Jerry: "Hey! I read."
Elaine: "Books, Jerry. Books!"
