I have the photos from todays stage. the tour went through the town i live in - Glossop - and so i went up one of the climbs that the riders were doing and took some snaps. The leader was a credit agricole rider called Eric Leblacher and he was followed by an aussie riding for Mr bookmaker called Ben Day.

lebacher made it to the top first but they were eventually caught by the peleton.

the stage was eventually won by Mauricio Ardila and he now has the yellow jersey with a 5 second lead over lebacher and nick nuyens.

olympic gold medalist Bradley Wiggins and Tour de France 2nd place Andreas Kloden are 20 and 13 mins behind respectively however, Michele Bartoli is only 20 secs down on Ardila.

the pics are on my blog sight - the link to which is my signature.

The climb the riders are on is the snake pass. 6kms long and about 8%.

Thanks for the pics Chisa. Looks like a nice ride too. Do you ever ride it?

i ride that climb about 4 times a week. it hasn't gotten any easier over time!

it used to be the only way to get between manchester and sheffield - two of the biggest industrial cities in england.

now there is a motorway but the road still gets plenty of traffic.
