Trouble with CC-CD300DW cateye comptuer

I have a CC-CD300DW cateye computer... It's only about 1 year old. I just replaced the batteries and everything but the speed/time works... the cadence works just fine. Does anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong?

I replaced all 4 batteries (yes, they are put in correctly, and yes, all the magnets are lined up properly).

I suspect it's the sending unit. You can try warranty but these have been problematic since they were introduced. New computer-V2C must better piece of gear. Not sure why the time doesn't work.
