Riders in the Rocky Mountain region will have a new demo and expo event to include on their calendars this fall as the inaugural Outlier Offroad Festival is set to take place September 26-27 in Vail, Colorado. Outlier joins the likes of Outerbike — now in its sixth year in Moab, Utah — as a chance for mountain bikers to see the coming season’s new wares.
In addition to the expo and demo options, which include more than 30 brands, Outlier includes a 25-mile cross-country race on Saturday and a three-stage enduro on Sunday. Organizers are offering a $25,000 prize purse to split between the two races.
Outerbike, scheduled for the weekend after Outlier, October 1-4, doesn’t feature races but offers guided rides, clinics, organized shuttles, and parties. Currently, it lists about 50 exhibitors scheduled for this fall’s event. Organizers also offer a March event in Moab, as well as a June event in Whistler, British Columbia.
Registration for Outlier expo ranges from $12-$129, depending on one- or two-day options, lift ticket options, and the VIP package. Race registration is separate. Outerbike’s registration packages range from $35-$175, again depending on options.
