the bike. Darned forecast for tonight & tomorrow is chucking it
down with rain. BAH! It's the Norwich Audax tomorrow and I hold my
hands up and admit to being a wimp. If it is chucking it down
and/or strong winds, I shan't be doing it. If it's more like today,
I shall.
Humph. I'm absolutely committed to riding from Stranraer to Dumfries
(75 miles) on Sunday. Charity ride, and I've got sponsors, so I
really can't chicken out. The good news is that the forecast is cold
but sunny; the bad news is a crosswind of gale force 8 to severe gale
force 9, 'that to which a well-conditioned man-of-war could just
carry in a chase, full and by, close-reefed topsails and courses'.
Humph.
