Yesterday I went to a Tastefully Simple party. There were samples of each of the products that were for sale. I'm not sure what the calorie count was, but it didn't much matter to me because I wasn't hungry for the rest of the day. Friday we went shopping at Trader Joe's. Today I spent the entire day chasing down bowls that I could put in the broiler because I wanted to make French Onion soup (Williams Sonoma for under $3 each!!) and I also came up with an interesting Devilled Crab Salad recipe that is pretty decent in points and quite filling and tasty. In short, it's been a food filled weekend.
Today's warm weather inspired me to go to Galyan's (sporting good store). I picked up some goggles and a kickboard for the pool. I haven't decided when I'll start yet, but I'm making steps. I also parked far away in the lots today because the weather was gorgeous (56 F according to my car).
This is a lot of progress in two weeks, in dropped pounds, fun with food, and activity. You had both SVs and NSVs. I hope you're pleased with yourself, because you should be. Excellent news Julie.

Thank you Linda. I am pleased with myself. I've been trying to give myself more credit as time progresses and I am doing just that. It's harder work than I thought though. I am finding that as long as I'm perfect about journaling, I'm not beating myself up for everything else that isn't "perfect" according to unattainable ideals that come from unknown sources-that's a major NSV.

I'm sure I can do it. When I started WW a year ago I lost 35 lbs and it seemed so easy. I just can't figure out why all the difficulty since Christmas. All the stress from DH being sick last summer must have caught up to me or something!

Stress has a way of doing that. I know stress of a few years caught up to me and I was burned out completely. I'm becoming less of a stress puppy, but it's a hard thing to get over.

Think post-traumatic stress. It's like an earthquake followed by the aftershocks. Or the second and third and fourth waves of grief that come on the anniversary of a death. Or the nightmares that war veterans can have for years after coming home. The initial trauma/stress you experienced (and overlooked because all effort was focused on your husband's trauma and recovery) may still be working its way through your system.
