Why do cyclists not use the cycle path?

Well, you'd need to indicate that the wave was directed to both of
them, perhaps you could somehow indicate 'two' by incorporating some
sort of hand-signal in the wave?

46 implies that, as in parts of urban Britain, cycle paths are often
hidden, poorly lit places where assaults are more likely to occur.

One cycle path that I regularly use is a popular haunt of cider drinkers
- I imagine that in some neighbourhoods the friendly wino may be
replaced by a crystal meth user with an automatic weapon.

Thanks for that - I think i've read the German version ages ago.
Talking about bicycle tracks... I just browsed through our great new weekly
regional newspaper, The North West Enquirer. And I came across this article
in the comments section:

Basically the author complains that on his (pedestrian) way to work in
Manchester a lot of bicycles use the pavement instead of the street or
designated cycle tracks. I'm quite tempted to write a comment in reaction
to this article to clarify some of the misconceptions about cycling and

Our local flagship facility, the Spen Valley Greenway, is a favourite place
for the local kids to smoke dope.
