Hey classic, I feel your pain from the U14s. You're mate Gavin was very lucky to nudge me out of second by <6" in the warm up scratch race last night. Very lucky. 🙄

Weak as [censored] Jock. Harden the [censored] up.

GW could ride a 12.5 flying 200m as a 13yo, on a gear limit of 76". So could I, but that was on his wheel.:p He never really kicked on if the truth be known-as a young bloke everyone thought he'd be a world beater. Shane Kelly on the other hand.......

    +1

    ROFLMAO:p

Forget about Seaspray, anyone who eats this muck while in Italy should kick themselves in the nuts. :p

I didn't eat that muck in Italy.

Can't say the same about Spain though. Forget what these pretentious writers in the newspaper travel guides say about the grub there. It is almost universally [censored] in my experience. Except for the ham. Thats awesome.😄

    Spain

Got a memory of drinking espresso's with a thin layer of condensed milk on the bottom....😄

    I see a correlation here... 🙂

LOL. I was drinking a bottle or carafe of red nearly every night in Spain, South of France and Italy. Nearly three weeks of it. The night before we left Italy I started getting a dull ache in my big toe. 🙄 Gout! 😄 Luckily for me we were heading to Germany and I could get stuck into the beer.

I had to stop drinking espressos after dinner coz I couldn't get to sleep they were that strong.

The missus doesn't drink tea or coffee so she would order hot chocolate. There was always anticipation on how they'd serve it. She got hot syrup and hot (what we think was) custard a few times, plus bitter stuff as well.

Hey Jock, how did you know it was <6", was the race THAT exciting? 🙂

Must be the week for trips...

    I'm off to Vegas in 2 weeks for a work jolly...ahem I mean conference...:o

Since I aint been before, someone care to put together a BBP-esque run down?

Failing that...any good bike shops worth a visit?

Well, it's 12 years since I was in Vegas but i can pretty much agree with what Ma and Thylo reckon...
Plus, coz they don't allow hookers on the street there is about 1 million sketchy dudes trying to pass you business cards and booklets of escort ads.
It is an interesting place along the lines of "WTF did they spend all the money to build this in the middle of nowhere" though. They even have slot machines at the airport. And yes, most American food is [censored], and mainstream American beer is [censored]

Nah, he's not that big really. Hey how much do you want for those wheels you lent me? I was figuring i could offload them for $20 and give you a tenner. Fair?

Oi, he's peakin'. I'm just getting back up to speed after tearing (another) quad. So I think it's only fair that I don't damage his ego by outsprinting him whilst riding single legged.

Fark jocko, another one? How many quads have you got?? :p😄

  12. Lance Armstrong lovelife thread.

    Check the photos. I LOL'd 😄

All of them. All broken at one stage or another. This on ecaused by impact triggered imbalance in the middle of strength training. Meh, who cares? I'm back to my mediocre best and nothing can stop me n... Fouch!

Mate, their off the missus's bike. Sell them and she will tear more than quad fibres.
How about I pick them up next MOTR?

I believe we have a deal. Your description of Mrs GTP is too intimidating for a young kid like me. Very scary.

Uncle Jock, you should care - every time you tear them and they recover, you are building scar tissue and scar tissue does not behave anything like functioning muscle fibre.

    Men! 🙄

  17. On the subject of injuries, looks like JonoL has been in the wars down in Tassie - having his own canine moment

Fark! Poor bugger. I noticed in the results yesterday that he had a DNF. I guess no donation to the Lost Dogs home from JonoL this year. Glad that he has no major injuries.

Parawolf, I can help a bit with the old Italiano as well. Don't listen to bbp just coz he was there for months. I learnt everything you need to know in a week and a half.

Classico-Unos guida to Italiano kulturo and languago.

Lugano = parawolf, you didn't get off the train at Como like you were supposed to and you are now in Switzerland you [censored]
    <SNIP>
stupido testa della merda = someone told me to say this where you'd say 'please' in English, but I'm not too sure about this.

I hope this is really helpful when you are in Italy. It made my trip so much easier, I can tell you. Except for the last one. Also, Italians don't seem to like being spoken to slowly and loudly in English. Farked if I know why, the ignorant [censored].

Seriously, Como is great and the Lake Como area is beautiful. If you do have a chance to get up to Bellagio and Madonna di Ghisallo do it. And I did not have one crook feed in Italy.

    Hilarious mate 🙂

I've got a co-worker that does the same job as me in Italy, based in Milan, and he has offered to be my tour guide for the Saturday. Picking me up on motorbike and taking me up to Como. We are going to do Bellagio, Madonna di Ghisallo + the muesum/church thing dedicated to cyclists that is there, have lunch in a restaurant on Lake Como and then watch the finish 🙂

  20. Yeah yeah, rub it all in. I can't speak for the others, but I really hate you Parawolf. Como. Pfftt. Its a dump I tell you, a dump, and Lago di Como is the Italian equivalent to Werribee [censored] farm.

Did anyone see the expanses of Rochelle Gilmores flesh on cyclingnews? BTW, I didn't read the associated article.😄
