You might've read or heard about pros doing this to make themselves as light as possible on race day: using laxatives and enemas, obviously to reduce weight, then only eating pure carbs (or even IV-ing carbs) with electrolytes, without and 'unnecessary' stuff like protein, fat or too much salt.
