    :-)
One dot means I did some slack grinding in zone 2 or 3, and 2 dots represents TT-type intensity, and the bigger the dots, the longer the 'bursts'. Three dots means I did some of my anaerobic pseudo intervals, but if the dots are small, it means it was only a few efforts.

A large first dot followed by a smaller 2nd dot means I spent a long time in zone 2 and 3, with some short bursts at TT pace (probably just to pass and drop someone, then lost interest coz they didn't or couldn't chase me. Ha).

Yes, I've been a bit slack -- I kid meself that I'm serious, but I've only 15,185km so far this year, and I'm at least 3 or 4kg over weight. If anyone's wondering why there's no easy block, it's coz I haven't been training hard enough.

Who reckons I can package and sell this as "Nifty Nev's Training Systems"? Ha. Hmmm, "NNTS" has a nice ring to it.. Ha

So are the numbers km's and the 0's days off? I remember when you always rode 360+ days a year. And I'm not meaning you should be unhappy with 6 nonriding days a month. I'd be happy with 6 riding days a month.

  2. Yep, hi-tech, hey?! :-) I know! Six days off is slack.
Nah, I think that year I rode 310 or 320 days. I don't ride indoors, or if it's really wet. In the last couple of years I've tried to be less obsesses about riding every day.

Old school is good mate. are you racing much over summer? the crits at kew look like the go mid week.

  4. Thanks for the moffie reviews gang. Much appreciated. Alas, it's Mystery Road tomorrow night. I hope it's not like most Australian movies (could have been great but wasn't ... sigh).

Ha. I suppose I could be more old school with no speedo, training by 'feel', and racing myself into shape. Ha

Are you gunna race at Kew? I haven't seen the course since "crash corner" was worked on. I might check it out again, but I reckon that circuit is more for "crit-monkies", who don't mind short 'straights' and constantly accelerating out of corners.

I'll probably just race at Southern Masters on Thursday nights at Sandown again, and maybe Tuesdays if the bunches aren't monstrous

  6. Hey, cool kids, are Pink Floyd's '70s albums now considered dated and pretentious, particularly all the instrumental bits?

Yeah maybe in a month or so, depends on work and stuff. Also I'm still getting fit and used to be a really really really fat porker, sandown sounds better.

No, I don't think so. What makes you ask such a question?

So I'm down 0.6kg in the last 6 days. I'd rather that be a full keg.... I'll take it as a win. ~3500calories/0.45356kgs... so 100g=771calories. So I'm hovering at -771 calories/day deficit. All theory. All good.

28 days to Bright. Another 2.8kgs will get me where I want to be. I'm about a week ahead of where I was last year. Few big weekends on the bike coming up.... this will test things. I'll weigh in again next Friday. Don't wish me luck, it'll weigh something.

How many kilajamoules are you eating at the moment?

I mentioned the NME best album list to a couple of my muso mates, and they go: "Pfft! Good!"

    So, I dunno.
Do you reckon it's odd that the Brit mag, NME, have Dark Side of The Moon at number 132?
consequenceofsound.netthe top 500 albums of all time according to nme

This month's Southern Masters schedule is a bit odd for Sandown, coz of work being done there. They're racing the next 2 Wednesdays, then the following 2 Fridays. It's supposed to be back to Thursdays after that.
Then there's obviously the Carnegie races on Tuesdays, but they don't start there until next month, apart from, I think, one race this month,

Well given the list was apparently compiled by contacting former writers and staff and getting them to compile personal lists and then collating the results, you can expect all sorts of oddities.
Like Kanye West in the top 50. WTF?

  17. Yeah, and Dusty Springfield at #50....with all due respect.

  18. Some of yooz may remember me asking a while what birthday present I should buy for a mate who's got everything.
Well, he went to Europe a few months ago, then sent me a text last night, 'casually' saying: "look what followed me back from France."
Now he REALLY does have everything. And it's a custom paint job, if ya don't mind. :-)
