Secondly you cant just go using adjectives that clearly dont apply. That was not stupdendous. It was an OK win in a fairly weak field of sprinters where the guy really didnt have to do a hell of a lot all night and got a clear run at the line.

C'mon, OzMan put in some picks - plenty to choose from amongst the musos - all the Rolling Stones are getting on a bit, Rod Stewart, how about Cliff Richards for a rank outsider? Tim Curry is 69, so is a strong possibility on current trends.

Getting old may be better than the alternative in some respects but being old and infirm doesn't seem like a lot of fun. My mum has been in hospital or a rest home since January last year. She's had three hip operations in the past 12 months as a result of falls, can't stand unaided, can manage just a few shuffling steps with assistance and her dementia means she can't remember who visited her earlier in the day. Luckily for us she knows who we all are and loves to reminisce about past times.

Sometimes she hates being in the rest home and will tell us she's going to go back to her home town and stay with one of her cousins. Quite how she plans on getting there I don't know. Yesterday she was telling me her luggage had been sent ahead and someone (not sure who) was going to drive her up there.

I'm surprised she made it through Christmas given the statistics on life expectancy for neck of femur fracture patients, so we're just hoping what time she has left is not too distressing for her and we're just being as stoic as we can about the situation.

Don't forget to tell your mum and dad you love them when you get the chance.

Yeah, you're probably right. My delight is extravagent. But it's a good counterbalance for you, you miserable old cvnt. Actually, you're not even old, so in no way entitled to be a cumudgeon yet. Yeah, fark, No good. Horrible.
I feel for you. My parents are in their mid-70s, but they're both teetotalers, so hopefully they've got plenty of good years left. My dad has had a hip replacement, and is probably 20kg overweight, but that's it.

I think about [censored] like this way too much., In fact, it makes me do nothing, coz what's the point, coz we're all just gunna get old, sick then dead? .,....that's if we're "lucky" to live that long.
