Surprisingly the sent me a text message a couple of months later with a pic of the possum looking much bigger & in good health. Now that I wake up early like a normal human being, I saw a juvenile Ringtail Possum in my backyard this week. I wasn't certain it wasn't a rat nor an antechinus, until I noticed how big it's glossy, slightly blind eyes and even ears were; and its white tipped tail, uncoiled, and its slow method with proper jumping skills.
It's welcome to stay. For now. Until it needs to [censored] off and die like the neighbours' yappy dogs.

I have a pair of aluminium wheels with 28 hole 30mm rims and cheap spokes I built that are approx 1650 gms with skewers. Nothing particularly special about any of the components either. 20/24 holes, tubular rims, expensive spokes, radial on the offside, light skewers, exotic straight pull hubs would knock 300-400gms off that easy peasey. Surely the gain in braking in those conditions and not stacking all over the place is worth the loss of a handful of watts in aero? I actually said this to some NSW bloke at an NRS race who was complaining about lack of braking in the Traralgon crit, a course with a steep descent into a roundabout. I think my exact words were “you’re a [censored], it was raining at the start, why didn’t you put in different wheels”. He flounced off. [censored] if I know why, I was being constructive and helpful, the ungrateful [censored]. It takes two minutes to change a pair of wheels and brake pads. Plus it was an excuse, he was getting dropped uphill every lap.

That's why I used the original Swiss Side hadron wheels. It was an alloy rim with a carbon fairing that tested similar to a Zipp 808 when it came to drag and weighed about the same as a 404. It also made a nice rumble 😉

Mr E, I loved your headspace vid... both soundtracks were perfect. My Bride and I got out for a ride last Sunday. It was a spectacular day... 25 with perfect sunshine and no rain. Did a little backroads circuit and ended up at the Gundy pub for lunch. AKA the Lingalonga Inn.

Got a few average snaps of some exquisite visitors the other morning... a pair of Rainbow Lorikeets, mum and dad Superb Blue Wrens and Double-barred Finch.
