brompton pump for schrader valves?

It does? Both of mine have had Schraeder.

Sorry, just going by info I found on the web (shops selling
bromptons) who claim that Schrader valves wobble
around a bit in the holes in the rims, which are
made for Presta.

Schraeder valves are bigger than Presta, so it sounds like somebody's just
got the labelling wrong. Bromptons normally have Schraeder, which is the car
type valve.

Agreed. IIRC someone once sold/still sells Presta valved inner tubes
for Bromptons and these come with a little adapter to reduce the
diameter of the hole in the wheel so the valve doesn't wobble about
and then fail early.

Right. Now we've cleared that up (my bad)...

Can the Bromptom pump be used(converted/adapted) for Presta valves?

Yes it can.
I have one - the Brompton Zefal hpr.
Just unscrew the end, reverse the rubber and little 'wotsit' and voila.
It works.
