Hi,

I rode my new (used) campy shamal aero wheels on the weekend and it ****** down with rain like a *******. I was cleaning the bike today and noticed a 'swishing sound' when turning the rear wheel.........took the tyre off and a cup of water came pouring out of the valve hole!!! No water in the front wheel (back wheel gets more spray?).

Obvious questions - is this normal?(!), am I missing a seal? It had crossed my mind that there wasn't a good seal where the valve stem passes through the wheel............do TT riders only do it when the sun is shining???

Any suggestions appreciated.

Water gets in the rim of my Cosmic Carbones all the time, but they have 4 small holes in the carbon fairing to drain them, but every time after a rain ride or race i have to drain them anyways. So to answer your question, no, your not missing any part of your wheel.
