Cyclismag evaluation of power on GIRO

Menchov producing the same power as the ultra-doped Basso of '06?
Plus ca change... etc.

Who really cares! So much is going on in the world and you are stuck in a time warp. Please... someone slap him out of his groundhog world.

Its not a world crisis and you don't have to focus on it all the time. You guys would love to have Greta Van Sustren run this topic 24 7. Sheesh guys get a life.

This is organized sport, a competition with specific boundaries to narrow the conditions for measurement.

If it's just entertainment to you, then I presume you'd be OK with riders killing pushing each other into barriers and the like? After all, the only difference is that one form of cheating is obvious, the other slightly more subtle (only slightly, I suppose, until you see power evaluations from this year's Giro).

Yea...right.

Stages in this years Giro where easier, most of them where just a finishing climb rather than 3 or 4 monster climbs then a finishing climb.

Do you know much the difference in difficulty affect the figures quantitatively? Blokhaus for instance was after a rest day and consisted of a bunch ride to the bottom of the climb. To this extent it was almost nothing more than a time trial after a rest day.

Give it up leerobbs. Some people are on a mission and just can't accept the reality of human nature trumping their fantasy world.
I think you have it backwards, champ.

Thanks for posting these Poulidor. Is there one for the Dauphine/Ventoux yet?:) (not able to read enough french to navigate the cyclismag site)

Puissances modestes au Ventoux

http://www.cyclismag.com/article.php?sid=5078

Summarizing, Valverde and Szmyd produced the most performing results with an average of 405 Watts (up to Chalet Reynard, not considered higher than that due to high winds).

Evans/Contador 395 watts (very modest)

Valverde had a 15-minute passage of Chalet Reynard with 410 watts

Basso produced in average 30 watts less than at Blockhaus (Giro), which has almost same length as Ventoux.

Thanks for that:) Surprised the wattages arent higher.
Especially on a one week race but in France with gendarmes and the fear to have a whole team exclusion of next TDF in case of a doping fault.
